Jim Johnston is a composer, musician and producer whose wide-ranging pop, rock and classical compositions for film, television and live productions have been heard by millions of people in live performances and on all major streaming services, including Apple Music, Youtube and Spotify, where he averages more than 800,000 monthly listeners.

He is a 13-time winner of the prestigious BMI FILM & TV AWARD, with more than 5,000 compositions registered in the BMI repertoire index. He has sold more than seven million CDs, millions of iTunes downloads and has recordings that have placed #2 and #3 on the Billboard Top 200.

He began his career composing for CBS, NBC, HBO, Showtime and MTV. From 1985 to 2017 he was the musical director and composer for WWE in Stamford CT. He composed and produced the iconic themes for stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Steve Austin and The Undertaker and many others. His genre-defining music helped establish WWE's global franchise. He has composed scores for many film projects, six recorded with full orchestras at Abbey Road and Air Studios in London, and the Toronto Symphony in Canada. He's been featured in stories in The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Billboard as well as many online interviews and podcasts.

Johnston plays many instruments, most typically playing all parts on his recordings. He currently lives and works in Connecticut, in his private state of the art studio, composing in many styles and genres for film, television, advertising and individual performers.
